Rough Shooting, Walked Up & Wildfowling

Rough Shooting &
Walked Up

We host walked up days in various areas of Dumfries and Galloway across a variety of terrains.  Walked up days are available throughout the season.  Variety of species including Pheasants, Partridges, Ducks, Geese, Woodcock, Snipe and Brown Hare.  For these days we can cater for 2-8 guns.  It is encouraged that the team bring their own dogs however we will employ beaters for these days if needed.

Elevenses and Lunch can be arranged if required.  Guns will meet in the morning at the shooting lodge.  After a safety briefing, we will make our way onto the estate led by the gamekeeper.  The day consists of mini driven shooting and walked up in a more relaxed and informal manner.

Wildfowling

Dumfries and Galloway is world famous for its wildfowling. According to a recent BBC article there can be as many as 50,000 geese in the region at any one time.  Each year from September to May thousands of geese descend to avoid the arctic winter. The region is warmed by the gulf stream attracting many species and the area is home to many large gardens including Logan Botanic Gardens, home to many southern hemisphere plants.  From the exciting challenge of flighting wild ducks into one of our many flight ponds or decoying wild Geese onto stubble fields, we are sure we can satisfy even the most experienced wildfowler.
